Join your fellow ’Canes for a discussion with Science Communicators on the importance of diverse voices and culturally-relevant storytelling in STEM, the environment, and other scientific topics.
Our featured speaker, alumna Danni Washington, B.S. '08, is fervently committed to promoting ocean conservation advocacy among youth. A talented science communicator, she is the first African American woman to host her own science television program, Xploration Nature Knows Best, a nationally syndicated STEM educational series.
Our moderator, Dr. Nikki Traylor-Knowles, is a cell biologist studying the evolution of immunity, wound healing and regeneration, and a member of the University’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
Hosted by the Washington D.C. ’Canes Community, the conversation with these prominent women will offer insights into their passion for communicating the importance of diversity, the sciences, and the environment.
